Georgie Russell
Head Therapist & Founder
Georgie is the founder and head therapist of The Deep Unwind. Georgie’s journey into the world of massage therapy wasn’t a straight path—it was a series of natural steps that led her to where she is today. After years of teaching yoga and working alongside acupuncturists, naturopaths and chiropractors, she found herself drawn to the power of therapeutic touch.
What began as a curiosity after the birth of her second child soon evolved into a lifelong passion for holistic healing. This passion first took shape after completing the HSC, when she developed a keen interest in the human body and fitness, leading her to pursue a science degree at university. However, an unexpected turn led her into an apprenticeship with renowned chef Neil Perry, eventually culminating in the ownership of her own café.
After three years in the hospitality industry, she felt a strong pivot toward her true interest: health and wellness. A natural early riser, she had trained as a yoga teacher while running her café, and before long, she transitioned into teaching yoga full-time. It was through this journey that she discovered her true calling—sharing with others the same benefits and transformation that yoga had brought into her own life.
In 2019, she made the leap to establish The Deep Unwind, renting a single treatment room just one day a week. It didn’t take long before her schedule was fully booked, leading her to expand—first to three days, then to a full-fledged practice in 2022, with a team of like-minded therapists working alongside her.
At the core of Georgie’s work is a deeply compassionate approach. For her, massage isn’t just about easing physical tension; it’s about creating a space where people can pause, breathe and truly let go. Whether she’s guiding someone through a remedial treatment, offering craniosacral therapy or supporting an expectant mother with prenatal massage, her goal is always the same: to help clients reconnect with themselves and move toward greater balance and well-being.
Georgie is a nature lover, lifelong learner and passionate advocate for self-care. Her journey into the mind-body connection began during the decade she spent teaching yoga before having kids. She escapes to the South Coast whenever she can to reconnect with nature and regulate her nervous system. Lifting heavy weights has become a powerful practice in mindfulness and strength-building, and she never misses her twice-daily meditation.

Kyron Israelsohn
Remedial & Sports Massage Therapist
Kyron is a passionate remedial, sports and relaxation massage therapist with a strong foundation in anatomy, biomechanics and pain management. His approach is driven by a deep interest in how movement and recovery impact both physical and mental well-being.
His background as an elite swimmer gave him a deep appreciation for how the body moves, recovers and performs—and also how easily it can be pushed to its limits. After experiencing both the highs of peak performance and the challenges of injury firsthand, Kyron developed a strong passion for understanding the body and helping others optimise their own physical health.
For Kyron, massage therapy felt like a natural fit because it combines hands-on care with a strong foundation in anatomy, biomechanics and rehabilitation. It gave him a way to directly support people, whether they're recovering from injury, managing pain, improving their posture or simply seeking to move and feel better. That desire to make a meaningful difference is what drew him into the field, and it continues to drive his work today.
Kyron holds an Advanced Diploma in Remedial Massage and a Bachelor's in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Sydney. He is currently expanding his clinical expertise, completing a Master's degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
Outside of work, Kyron is passionate about staying active through swimming (particularly open water swimming), strength training or getting outdoors for a hike. He also love diving deeper into topics like human movement, rehabilitation and health science to continually grow his knowledge. When he's not moving or studying, you’ll usually find him enjoying a good coffee, exploring new places or catching a quiet moment by the beach or park with his dog.
A fun fact about Kyron is that he once competed in international swimming competitions alongside several future Olympians—an experience that taught him a lot about discipline, resilience and the importance of recovery, which he now bring into his work with clients.

I have had soft tissue treatments from highly skilled Osteos, Physios and massage therapists over many decades. Kyron at Deep Unwind is as good as it gets. In first session he unlocked deep systemic tightness and stress. Could not recommend more highly!
